How To Organise Your Moving Day With Ease

Moving day can be chaotic, and often brings all hands on deck. To organise your supportive team of friends and family, begin the day with a short brief. Allocate certain tasks to certain people and divide out rooms so that your man power is spread throughout your home. Divide the roles of packing, cleaning, loading and unloading accordingly.
Draw a Plan
Before your moving day, draw up a basic floor plan with a layout of where you want your bulky furniture to be placed. You can then give this to the removal team who will be unloading your heavy furniture items and leave them in control of the task without having to oversee the whole process. This will free you up to put your attention towards something else. It is a good idea to make copies of this map and colour code them by room, giving boxes the relevant colour to make unpacking simple and hassle free.
Make Your Checks
Once you make it into your new home, there are few things you should check. Test all the smoke alarms in your home and check the perimeter of your garden fence for holes and potential security flaws. This is particularly important if you have young children or pets and any openings or weak spots should be dealt with as soon as possible. It’s also a good idea to check that all services such as water and electrics are in working order.
